Amanda Arnold is a PhD student at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. She is a member of the Earth to Ocean research group. Her research focuses on the spatial evaluation of protections and threats to sharks and rays on a global scale.

Right now, I'm comparing the known species ranges of chondrichthyes (sharks, rays, & chimeras) and their overlap with current Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). Using this information I'll find trends that occur in species coverage.
